Tailpiece wanted

Postby Snap » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:45 pm

I'm looking for a tailpiece for one of my Radiotones. It currently has a Gibson copy and I hate to see that thing on that guitar. I'd like to find an original one or the early Paramount unit (in fact the late Radiotone tailpice is just a copy of the Paramount part), though a similar one "not ringing like a clear Gibson-like" would be ok too.

If anyone has one or ever find one for sale, please, drop me a line. ;)

Perhaps this one. A Kluson replica (or similar) I saw in some early W. L. Lange period ('30s) Paramount archtops. It looks more correct to my eyes than any other possible replacement I've found. And one thing that is very important for me... It's Nickel plated!!!!

Here's a comparison of the two tailpieces and two early Paramount style B guitars having them. These tailpieces were used for a short period. Lange started to build their own solid and bulky brass compensated tailpieces along with one-piece non-adjustable bridges. It seems that the Czech guys got "inspired" by an early guitar with the old specs.
