Camila Cabello’s Awards

Young Cuban-American musician Camila Cabello received the most nominations for the European MTV Music Awards. She is nominated in six categories, including the best song, video and artist.

The awarding of the European MTV Music Awards will take place on 4 November in Bilbao. Camila Cabello received the most nominations, as many as six. She is followed by American singer Ariana Grande and US Postpaid rapper with five nominations.

Each with four nominations can be praised by a Canadian musician Drake and a British songwriter Dua Lipa. Canadian musician Shawn Mendes, who took home three awards last year, has three nominations this year.

This year, Camilo Cabello’s 21-year-old is outstanding. Her best-selling version of Havana, at the end of January, topped the charts of the US music charts, along with Camila’s album in the same week. Havana’s songwriting version had over 1.3 million views on YouTube’s web portal.

In August, the singer received two prestigious awards at the MTV video conferencing award – a video clip for the best video, and was also selected as an artist of the year.

Last year, Camila Cabello, a former member of the Fifth Harmony Girls’ Group, won the Best Pop Players Award from the European MTV Music Awards.

Affiliate Marketing For Musicians

I won’t lie; there is a lot of money in music. But, if you don’t know how to properly monetize your work, or maybe you’re just not as good as you think, there are still different options to make money, rather than just selling your instrumental music or songs.

If you’re one of these people, who can’t really make a living just with music yet, then you’re lucky that you came across this post. Of course, there are a lot of different posts and methods on affiliate marketing, but they don’t really focus on musicians.

Affiliate Marketing and Why Musicians Love It

If you’re new in the business world, affiliate marketing is one of my favorite business models and here’s why.

1. No Need To Keep Stock

This is a HUGE advantage of affiliate marketing over any other online business. You just send people to affiliated stores and they do all the work.

2. No Need To Deal With Customers

This is a big problem for people that make money with dropshipping. They have to respond to customers, even hire a support team, order and ship products, then even deal with returns and complaints. No bulls*it like that here, sir.

3. Advertise the Products YOU Like

So, if you’re a musician, you probably like music, right? With affiliate marketing, you can promote all kinds of things – Musical equipment and instruments, lessons, music stores in general, and so on.

So there are the main 3 tips on why musicians love affiliate marketing, and why should you care too, especially if you want to make a nice side income.

Delay Pedals You Should Invest In

As a guitar player, you must know what a delay pedal is. It’s a little device which helps you transform the sound of your guitar, but also add effects, loop your session, etc. But there are a lot of great options out there, afterall – you sure want to find the best delay pedals and buy those, right? Today we’ll take a look at some great options – the most affordable ones, that still feature great quality and variety of different effects.

MXR M169 (Carbon Copy)

Great option for people just starting out with pedals. It’s an analog delay pedal – this type is very popular among guitarists, as most musicians lean toward analog gear. It’s also very affordable and looks great.

Line 6 DL4

Ever heard of looping? If you just answered yes, than this one is a great choice and probably the best option for you. It features all kinds of effects (actually around 15) – most of them are vintage and sure will impress you & your friends.

TC Flashback 2

No words needed for this one, but I’ll sure give you some information about it: its maximum delay time is just around 40 seconds, which we can all agree is more than enough for most of us. It’s actually a digital delay and has a looper built in – what a great little device this is!

Have any suggestions?

If you think there are some other delays worth mentioning, let us know and we’ll make sure to cover it in one of our next posts: info@euroguitars.co.uk

How Much Should You Spend On Your First Guitar

Let’s face it – as a beginner, you probably don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on your first guitar. Maybe because you’re not sure whether you actually like playing a guitar (since you haven’t tried it yet), maybe because you don’t know how much time you will be able to spend playing your new instrument, or just because you don’t have the money. Today I want to discuss guitar prices and my advice on buying your first guitar. I won’t be including any specific models here, but if you’re interested in that, I suggest you check out IndieHq’s post on some of the best acoustic guitars.

So, How Much Should You Spend?

To be honest, that’s mostly up to you and there’s no wrong answer here. As long as you don’t buy a cheap guitar for $30, you should be fine. The best way to look at it is to find some of the most popular brands and check out their entry-level models. Brands such as Yamaha, Fender, Martin and Epiphone are all known as some of the most trustable guitar manufacturers, but the best part is that they also make great guitars at very affordable prices.

Generally, I personally wouldn’t spend more than $200 on my first guitar. That’s just because you’ll feel less pressure by paying less for your first instrument. You know, if you’ve paid $700 it, then everybody will expect you to practice every minute of the day and get to the pro-level in 1 week. That’s not how it works. In order to really get good at it, you need to be relaxed and accept that learning takes time.

What Size of a Guitar Is Best For Beginners Like Yourself?

There’s really no rules here, whatever feels most comfortable to you. If you’re currently in the buying phase, I recommend you check out IndieHQ, where they review different models and give some great advices.

Don’t Expect Your First Guitar To Be Amazing

Let me elaborate on that. As a newbie, you probably don’t have an unlimited budget. That means you won’t be getting a professional guitar when you’re just starting out. And as we all know, there are some affordable guitars that sound great, but none of them can really compare to the high-end models. But you know what? That’s totally fine!

Your first step is to master playing it, then – and only then, you can focus on the sound, design, etc. But there’s another trick as well. If you have ever seen a decent guitarist playing on an entry-level guitar, you definitely noticed that it sounds good. In fact, if a beginner played the same guitar, they couldn’t get it to sound half as good!

That’s because you haven’t mastered the playing part yet. You don’t always hit the right notes, don’t press on the fretboard hard enough, and so on. That results in your guitar sounding weaker and “worse than advertised”.

But trust me, once you get good at playing on a budget-friendly guitar, you’ll rock everybody’s world by playing on more expensive models!

Instruments That Are The Easiest To Learn

Various instruments are easy to play while others, is a long journey through them. It takes a focused and ambitious mind to learn how to play, whether it’s simple or complicated.

Don’t Make Any Mistake When Buying Your First Guitar!

Acoustic guitars can be very difficult to buy. After deciding if you want an acoustic model instead of an electric one, there are many other things you should consider before buying one. Below are several tips designed to help you decide which guitar to buy.

What To Look For?

There are many different acoustic guitars out there. Enough to make the head turn. Everywhere, from six to twelve strings, acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. Such guitars could cost between a few hundred dollars to more than fifty thousand. If you are not careful, you might end up paying a lot more than you want for a guitar that does not suit you. The trick is to know what you want and then continue with your weapons. The following points describe what to look for when buying a guitar:

1. Look at the neck. Make sure it fits your hand in a way that is comfortable. You must be able to reach the ropes easily and comfortably. Also, you will have to practice a lot with that instrument, so make sure you can hold it during that time. After all, the neck will be the bulk of the movement. Here are some examples of the most popular guitar necks.

2. Consider the wood. The wood of the guitar plays a key role in the sound of the instrument, so make sure you like the sound of that wood. It will be your personal instrument, so if you like sound, then go with that wood. Also, check the quality of the wood. Some are softer and more brittle as a result. If your guitar is likely to receive some hits, make sure it is hardwood.

3. With a guitar comes a tuner. There are two forms of such machines, one is enclosed and the other is open. You must understand that open ones tend to oxidize more easily than closed ones. This can lead to a replacement tuner. Beyond this, one is not necessarily better than the other.

4. Will you be performing? If you need to amplify your sound, you may be better off with an acoustic-electric guitar. These will be amplified more easily to transport a large audience. If you are using only for recreation or a small audience, then this is not a consideration you should be concerned about.

5. When you buy an acoustic guitar, you are looking for an instrument that looks good to you. It will be your instrument and your style, so get one that you like. As it is just beginning, you do not need one of the best quality. Get one that sounds good and will last and you will do well until you need a better one.

Hope that these quick tricks will help you more easily pick your first guitar. Don’t worry though, you probably want to buy something cheap and that’s totally okay. Afterall, you’re not going to keep your first guitar for your whole life (probably), so just pick one that suits you at that moment. Worry about the future in the future.
